Sailex is a yacht charter business specialising in customised yacht racing, daysailing, harbour sailing and team experiences. We cover the entire North East Coast of New Zealand including the Bay of Islands. Come and sail Auckland – the City of Sails.
Our vessel/s are based at Sailex Westhaven Marina Auckland
We pick up and drop off at Westhaven or the Viaduct Harbour which is next to Westhaven.
Both of these locations are very close to central Auckland.

The Boat “Spitfire”(42′ or 12.8M), fast, fun and comfortable
One of our customised Sail Auckland Charters could be just the thing if you are only in town for a short time. Often we can put a trip together for you at very short notice.
All trips are skippered but there is plenty of opportunity for you to helm(steer) the boat and control the sails and be involved in the sailing – in fact, unless you’d rather sit back we kind of expect you to to do the sailing.
Our spring prices are very reasonable and we offer two main options:
1. Half Day (4 hours) for $990NZ
2. Full Day (8 hours) for $1,500NZ
Here are some example options that you might like to choose – feel free to talk to us or ask your Concierge and we will suggest an option to suit your situation:
Sail Auckland harbour – Just go sailing. Sail out of the harbour and either North or East or ESE – depending on the conditions. This is a great option if you only have 2-4 hours and we adjust every trip to suit the time and conditions.
Sail Auckland to Waiheke – disembark Waiheke, enjoy Oneroa village and beach and restaraunts – return Auckland on the regular Fullers Ferry service
Sail Auckland to Rangitoto/Motutapu/Motihie/Rakino day trip – one way options so that you can return by ferry are available from some destinations
Sail Auckland to the “bottom end” of Waiheke, we can arrange a taxi to pick you up from Man O War vineyard after wine tasting and take you on a tour of the island that may include vineyards, restaurants and beaches before dropping you off at the ferry terminal at the Matiatia at other end of the island to return to Auckland (there are regular ferries) – a serious injection of concentrated good time.
The one way options are an adventure and allow you to get further and combine the trip with other activities.
